இது தொடர்பான மனுவை அவசர வழக்காக விசாரித்த நீதிபதிகள் சத்தியநாரயணன், ராஜமாணிக்கம் அமர்வில், மறு தேர்வுகளை எழுத மாணவர்களுக்கு வாய்ப்புகள் குறைக்கப்பட்டதால்,வேலைவாய்ப்பு பாதிக்கப்படுவதாக மனுதாரர் தரப்பில் வாதிடப்பட்டது. இதையடுத்து, வருகிற பிப்ரவரி மாதம் 8 ஆம் தேதிக்குள் பதிலளிக்க தமிழக அரசுக்கும், அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகத்துக்கும் நீதிபதிகள் உத்தரவிட்டனர்.

Students pursuing engineering courses at Anna University in Chennai protested against the recent rules that allows them to re-appear for failed exam only after a year.
Anna University has done away with the system of arrears from the current academic year. Instead, students would have to re-register and reappear for exams they had not passed in a semester, when the subject is offered next.
Student Messages : We don’t need credit base system. We need freedom to write arrear paper in next semester we know to take non violence but we dont want it… So consider our wants, take nessesary actions.. #BanRegulation 2017.. We don’t want it …#banR2017 #r2017 #AnnaUniversity.
