Soon students will be able to avail coaching services for higher education free of cost. The National Testing Agency which is a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization conducting entrance examinations for admission or fellowship in higher educational institutions. The NTA will convert its 2,697 test practice centres into teaching centres from next year.
These practice centres will become functional from September 8, said an official of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The ministry official said, “The plan is to take these centres beyond just practice tests and turn them into teaching centres. They will not charge any fees and so will be especially helpful for talented students from sections where aspirations are high but private coaching is impossible due to financial constraints.”
Students hailing from rural and semi-urban centres will also stand to benefit. Although these centres will become functional this year, the teaching will begin from May 2019 only.
