DPDP Compliance

Mapping Education in India is committed to respecting your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP). This page explains how the DPDP applies to our website and how you can exercise your rights as a data principal.

Scope and Applicability

The DPDP applies to the processing of digital personal data within India, and to processing outside India if it relates to Indian data principals. While Mapping Education in India does not collect personal data through user registration or accounts, we may process limited digital personal data such as IP addresses, browser type, and usage patterns via analytics tools and cookies for site functionality and improvement. This processing is limited to non-identifiable or aggregated data where possible.

Your Rights Under DPDP

Under the DPDP, you have the following rights as a data principal:

  • Right to access information about your personal data being processed
  • Right to correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
  • Right to erasure of your personal data
  • Right to grievance redressal if you believe your rights have been violated
  • Right to nominate another individual to act on your behalf in case of death or incapacity

Note: Since we do not collect personally identifiable information through forms or accounts, the practical application of these rights is limited to data collected automatically through website interactions.

How We Comply

We comply with the DPDP by:

  • Minimizing data collection to only what is necessary for site operation
  • Using anonymized or aggregated data wherever possible
  • Providing clear notice about data collection via our Privacy Policy
  • Offering a clear mechanism for you to exercise your rights
  • Ensuring third-party tools (e.g., analytics) comply with DPDP requirements

Data We Process

The types of digital personal data we may process include:

  • IP addresses
  • Browser and device information
  • Pages visited and time spent on site
  • Cookie identifiers (if enabled)

This data is not linked to your name, email, or other direct identifiers. We do not collect phone numbers, addresses, or government IDs.

Legal Basis for Processing

Our processing of digital personal data is based on legitimate interest under Section 11 of the DPDP, as it is necessary for:

  • Ensuring the proper functioning of our website
  • Improving user experience through analytics
  • Maintaining site security and performance

We do not rely on consent for this limited processing, as it is not required under DPDP for legitimate interest where no sensitive personal data is involved.
